Individuals may contribute a maximum of $5,000 - $2,500 for the Primary election and $2,500 for the General election. Crime and Punishment
As a former attorney with the Appeals Division of the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, Jack made sure that violent criminals remained where they belonged – in prison. In dealing with the appeals process, Jack has seen first-hand that this costly system is desperately in need of reform. There is even more waste, and uncertainty for victims, at the federal level. Our forefathers did a great job in spelling out specific protections for all of us – even convicted criminals. We don’t need any more. But, unfortunately, the federal government has continued to add more and more to what the Constitution requires.
In the end, Jack believes that this doesn’t help provide any more real protections. In fact, in some cases, it creates more when freeing violent criminals. And it is a cost that can be easily reduced. Jack will introduce “Finality for Victims’ Families” legislation that will bring closure to the victims’ families, streamline the appeals process, and reduce costs.
